Symptom : Strokes ( left paralysis)

Two years ago, I experienced an unexpected series of strokes; this caught me entirely off guard. Since then, I have undergone a lengthy recovery journey. Despite such adverse circumstances, I am fortunate to have been blessed by the God of Fortune. Even when I was lacking in confidence, God appeared at just the right moment, giving me courage and confidence again. I calmly and smoothly overcame all difficulties. I could not be more grateful! 

        In the second half of April this year, the God of Fortune visited me once again. A friend of mine, whose partner also had the same illness, recommended Dr. Wen’s Chinese Clinic to me. My husband immediately searched online for information about the clinic. As the director of the clinic, Dr. Wen’s supreme medical skills are widely recognized and have been much praised by his patients. With his “magical needles”, he was like the reincarnation of Hua Tuo, the well-known Chinese physician of ancient times. When I came to the clinic, I was already full of admiration for him. As soon as the door of the lift opened, I was greeted warmly by the nurses; this reassured me somewhat as I had felt a little anxious about visiting the clinic. 

        The waiting area was spacious, cozy, bright, airy and elegantly decorated. Hanging on the wall were two plaques on which were written “A divine physician of acupuncture” and “You rescued me when I was critically ill and allowed me to regain my life. I am greatly indebted to you”, tacitly conveying the utmost gratitude of the patients. The restrooms were equipped with accessibility facilities and were cleaned every half an hour by staff members; the environment was always well-maintained and kept fresh. The entire clinic was clean, hygienic and thoughtfully designed. It was fully deserving of its five-star reputation. 

          In my first visit, I was consulted by the vice director of the clinic, who noted down my medical history in great detail for Dr. Wen to refer to when he saw me. When Dr. Wen did see me, he looked at me kindly and spoke to me gently in Taiwanese, saying “You have been worrying too much! You have not paid enough attention to small issues. That’s why your health has suffered.” He hit the nail on the head with his explanation of why I had been experiencing health issues. At that moment, I was shocked, moved and in awe. “Since destiny brought us together, let’s work together!”, he told me. This friendly and warm statement felt like a breath of fresh air. All of a sudden, a feeling of warmth permeated my whole body. Just like that, a simple, gentle statement had alleviated my anxiety. The example that he set with his kind demeanor was truly admirable. 

        Dr. Wen is always able to discuss details with his patients easily, as if having casual chit chat with them. From time to time we could hear joyful laughter. He has the mindset of treating patients as his family when it comes to helping relieve and eradicate their pain and illness. No wonder the clinic is always busy. Around his clinic room hang plaques of all sizes inscribed with patients’ words of gratitude. In addition, Dr. Wen engages in charitable medical work in his spare time, for which he has received a Certificate of Appreciation from the police. His work has had a great impact on people and has engendered a spirit of immense energy and love in the clinic room. What a heart-warming place!   

        Dr. Wen’s treatment approach is well-rounded; this is in stark contrast to most other clinics, which would simply treat just the leg when a patient had a pain in their leg, for example. Since 27th April, I have had 30 sessions of acupuncture treatment. Not only was there significant improvement in the side effects of the strokes, a few long-standing ailments of mine were also unexpectedly cured by Dr. Wen’s magical needles.

I no longer had trouble sleeping. Four months after having the strokes, I started experiencing difficulty sleeping; I would toss and turn throughout the night. When I finally fell asleep, I would have nightmares and would wake up sweating and panicking. Dr. Wen said that I had dysautonomia. Thanks to the treatment, I am now able to get to sleep very quickly and enjoy a peaceful sleep. Sometimes I even have pleasant dreams!

My strokes were a result of the blockage in my right brain, resulting in paralysis in the left side of my body. Although I was able to lift my left arm, it lacked strength. My left leg became completely immobile and felt cold, not to mention weak. During the physical treatment, I often felt that my spirit was willing but my flesh was weak. The treatment with the magical needles hastened my recovery speed. The strength in my left hand has recovered by 90%. My left leg gradually became warmer and stronger. The cramps in my right leg—which would very often occur early in the morning—became less frequent. My level of confidence  in recovery has increased continuously!Every time I finished physical therapy, I would experience increased muscle tone in my left foot. My left knee felt heavy and each step I made was difficult. I told Dr. Wen, “My left foot is losing control again!” He always listened to me attentively and replied with a smile, “No problem! Leave it with me!” Amazingly, with swift and timely treatment, my foot became flexible again. He fully deserves the title of “legendary doctor”!The effectiveness of Dr. Wen’s acupuncture treatment for the eyes was incredible. I had never had styes in my life; after having the strokes, however, I experienced a total of five styes on my right eyelid, which all appeared at once. They troubled me greatly. Every month, I visited my ophthalmologist, took antibiotics and used eye drops. My doctor could not ascertain the cause; he told me that it was probably because my body had built up an excess of internal heat. He advised me to drink herbal tea to clear the heat, but this method was limited in its effectiveness, so I felt quite frustrated. Each morning when I woke up, there was so much discharge, or “rheum”, that I was unable to open my eyes. When I went to bed at night, my eyes would water whenever I yawned. After a few sessions of acupuncture treatment, I saw some improvement in these conditions. Furthermore, to my surprise, I no longer had to wear farsighted lenses when I read the newspaper. My vision had undoubtedly improved; what a lovely surprise!I had had a dry mouth for years. However, thanks to Dr. Wen’s miraculous hands, it was unexpectedly cured.I experienced a reduction in the frequency and urge to release my bladder. After having the strokes, I suffered from a weak bladder. In order to empty my urine, I had to use my muscles to force it out. Although I had the urge to urinate, the amount of urine I produced was little. After five sessions of acupuncture treatment, these embarrassing situations never occurred again.The yin deficiency in my body was treated and tonified. After getting married, I suffered three miscarriages. Because I had a busy job, I had been unable to nourish my body properly. My immune system had weakened and I would get a cold several times a year. I regularly took antibiotics, which irritated my stomach. I then contracted chronic bronchitis and post-nasal drip. I became very sensitive to environments with poor air quality, which would cause me to cough badly. I seemed to be endlessly clearing phlegm from my throat. After taking the traditional Chinese medicinal drink and powder prescribed by Dr. Wen, my immunity increased and all the above conditions were alleviated. Now, my body temperature is better regulated and I don’t feel cold so easily.My long term issues with constipation have been improved; now, my bowel movements are smoother. This has saved me a great deal of time, trouble and effort, and things are now so much easier and more comfortable in this area. I no longer experience dull stomach pains, and my appetite has increased. After having strokes, my appetite suffered; after midday, I would find myself lacking energy, like a balloon leaking air. Now, however, my appetite is twice as good as it was in the past, and my digestive system has also improved. Even if I have a large amount of food, I don’t easily get a bloated stomach. My facial complexion has become smoother and I am now more high-spirited. Thanks to the “smart needles”, my thinking skills are now more refined. After turning sixty, I suffered from severe memory deterioration; no sooner would I decide to do something than I would immediately forget what it was. I was endlessly forgetting things. Since visiting the clinic and undergoing “maintenance work”, I have made significant progress with my memory capacity. I shall continue to receive this “maintenance work”!

How lucky I have been to be blessed with such a destiny and to have encountered such a highly esteemed, kind and skillful doctor. He allowed me to regain my confidence and courage in the course of my recovery. I cannot thank him enough. I shall strive to make further progress and continue to receive treatment. I wish to thank every single nurse from the bottom of my heart. You are my angels!
