I once took medication for a cold and, at the same time, received topical anesthesia on my face during a microsurgery procedure. As a result, I lost my sense of smell for almost four years! My God! I firstly felt disappointed, then frustrated, and finally fell into despair. Those four years were the lowest point in my life.
