Plantar fasciitis

Witness : Li Songming

Symptom : heel pain, pollakiurua, and difficulty

in defecation

I had muscae volitantes, retinal detachment and age-related macular degeneration. On Dec. 15, my right vision became vague and was diagnosed as optic neuropathy complication by Taipei VeteransGeneral Hospital. I had been in the hospital for 3 days to receive treatment of impulsive steroids and my vision recovered to 0.3 (unstable). But I couldn’t see words in books and newspapers clearly. I could only read with my left eye. My vision was always covered by a dark mist. In the daytime, the light could get through my sight which made me feel dim (compared to the left eye). I usually took 30mg lutein to protect my eyes. As I read the patients’ testimonials about muscae volitantes and age-related macular degeneration treated by Doctor Wen, I then went to him for treatment.

I described to Doctor Wen my physical condition during the first treatment that I also had the following ailments aside from muscae volitantes, retinal detachment and age-related macular degeneration.

1. Due to the treatment of steroids, I couldn’t sleep well in the evening and often got up for urination (2-3 times per night) and also had difficulty in defecation.

2. About a year ago, I couldn’t hear with my right ear and had been in Taipei VeteransGeneral Hospital for 5 days (for steroids treatment). Though my hearing had recovered, I still had tinnitus all the time.

3. I couldn’t stand or walk for a long time, or my heel became painful. The neighboring hospital diagnosed it as heel fasciitis which was advised to be treated with acupuncture. At first, I didn’t feel pain but was attacked again one month later so that I had to wear sports shoes to relieve the pain. (Such symptoms had lasted for about 10 years)

Doctor Wen thought my vision and tinnitus should be treated for a long time and heel fasciitis could be cured first. Since Dec. 31, 2012, I started the intensive treatment of acupuncture and took the Chinese medicine prescribed by Doctor Wen. After the 3rd acupuncture, I felt my heel relieved. After the 5th treatment, my heel pain was relieved much, but sacroiliac articulation hurt when I stood or walked for a long time (about 1 hour). After the 6th treatment, I said my problems and he explained the pain was covered by heel pain as to be ignored.

After the 10th treatment (the first course), I tried to walk towards the neighboring hill (about 1- hour round trip, mainly stairs) and felt no pain any more. The right sacroiliac articulation was just slightly painful. I could say goodbye to my heel pain. Apart from this, my night urination and defecation difficulty was also cured without using any steroids (I have to urinate in the evening only when I drink too much water or eat a lot in the supper. Generally, I don’t urinate at night but only after I get up and before I go to work).

After the 1st course, my tinnitus still maintained the original condition and was even more serious than before (Doctor Wen explained it could be recovered if there was sound change situation and I needed to continue the treatment for a long term). Except for the painful feeling in the eyes, my vision still remains the same. I hope my vision and tinnitus can be recovered in the 2nd course of treatment so that I can get rid of my muscae volitantes, retinal detachment and age-related macular degeneration.
