My 18-year facial paralysis: Witness shares 

their experiences on how miraculous the magic needle is! 

How I learned about the therapy: reading other patients’ testimonials on the internet after being treated. 

About eighteen years ago, I found myself suffering from facial paralysis for the first time. I didn't pay too much attention to it, particularly after the symptom has decreased. As a result, slight sequelae still showed but I really didn’t mind it at that time since it was not obvious. 

However, about ten years ago, I caught a heavy cold. Then after several days of rest, I suddenly noticed that my mouth deviated severely when I looked into a mirror.. Scared, I tried to see a doctor immediately, but I had already missed the chance for quick curing. What’s worse, together with my old complaints I had from several years ago, the symptom came to a standstill even when it has slightly improved already. Later, I was really bothered by this disease and always felt uncomfortable when I chatted with others face to face or took photos.

During these years, I had sought treatments from both Chinese traditional and Western medicine. A western medical doctor told me that my nerve conduction was performing well and suggested that I abandon treatment. However, Chinese traditional medicine doctor advised me to undergo acupuncture and take medicine, all of which had no effect. 

Although I had already accepted the fact that my facial paralysis can’t be cured or improved, I sometimes still search for relevant posts on the internet regarding my condition. One day, I read a patient’s testimonial about having been healed after an acupuncture treatment from Dr. Wen. It was also a case of facial paralysis. Different from other exaggerated and untruthful common sharing on the internet, this one thoroughly showed the patients name, picture, dates and testimonials; therefore, I feel hopeful and was looking forward to visit Dr. Wen.

Having an eye-acupuncture treatment felt different at first (I have experienced scalp and abdominal acupunctures before, so it’s safe to say that I have a rich experience in acupuncture treatments.) After undergoing three eye-acupuncture treatments, I felt the symptoms were improved remarkably. This was far quicker than what I expected. Upon finishing the first course of treatment, few people can even notice my disease. How magical! 

Nevertheless, I am now on my third course of treatment and  am eager to get cured completely. Actually, if I don’t tell people, no one would notice my c that I have suffered facial paralysis. 

For someone like me who has been afflicted by facial paralysis for more than ten years, chances of being cured have been always been discouraged. No matter where we go, we will always be happy to say “thank goodness” once the symptom has improved. To be cured completely is what we never dare to wish.
