A happy bride to be
Two days before the Dragon Boat Festival (Saturday), I felt an uncomfortable twitch on my right eye but didn’t give it much thought because it was late and I had just got back home from overtime. However, I noticed that my eye was feeling very uncomfortable the whole day on Friday and got teary eyed every now and then. My colleagues even asked me if I had needle eyes. In the afternoon, I bought a cup of drink after I had lunch, but only to have it run and flow out from my mouth. Due to the busy nature of my work, I ignored the symptoms and went back after working overtime. When I was brushing my teeth that evening, I then noticed that I couldn’t rinse my mouth and close my mouth tightly. I also noticed that my mouth kind of inclined when I spat. I suddenly thought that I had apoplexy so I looked at myself in the mirror. Luckily, my arms and legs had no problem.
At midnight, I opened the computer to search the diseases that showed similar symptoms. after I finished reading the , all the information I got was pointing to facial nerve paralysis but I still couldn’t believe it. I was about to have my wedding pictures taken and I have facial nerve paralysis. Is this real? How I wished that it was all just a dream.
After six days of taking western medicine and acupuncture treatment, I still had no improvement. What’s worse was that the right side of my face swelled so much that it got painful when touched. Besides, I couldn’t open my mouth big enough to eat properly and even had no strength to chew. On the seventh day, I learned about Dr. Wen and other patients’ information about facial nerve paralysis on the internet. They recovered well with his acupuncture sessions. After reading their testimonials, I decided to get these acupuncture treatments in his clinic.
After three acupuncture treatments, I could now open my mouth and eat. The swelling on my face was gone and I could grin again after just ten treatments. At the end of my second course of treatment, I could now lift my eyebrow, frown, rinse my mouth and grin. My friends even couldn’t tell that I had facial nerve paralysis.
Dr. Wen was skillful and fast in his acupuncture treatments. After only three treatments, I had obvious and positive results. In addition, he often encouraged and gave me confidence because I was worried too much and thought that I could be never be cured. Looking at my improvement now, I believed I can fully recover from my facial nerve paralysis .
After this experience, I deeply realized that we should all cherish our health. Health is of great importance and we should not take it for granted, but this is easy to say and so hard to do. With long working hours, intense daily pressure, irregular eating time, insufficient nutrition and bad sleeping habits, we can all see why it’s so easy to catch diseases with such a weakened immune system. I will take good care of myself and my health so as not to worry any of my family and loved ones.
Finally, I would really like to thank Dr. Wen very much and hope I will fully recover before my 3third treatment and be a happy bride!
