Facial nerve paralysis

Symptom : facial nerve paralysis

Never delay your treatment—Chinese medicine acupuncture treatment on facial nerve paralysis 

   While driving to work on the morning of October 15, I suddenly found my mouth couldn’t open the way it usually does which made me scared. I wondered whether I got apoplexy for I was too busy the past two weeks. After arriving at the company, I eliminated the possibility of apoplexy firstly after searching on the Internet and confirmed it to be that of a facial nerve paralysis. I immediately sought advice from a western medical doctor in the evening. After the diagnosis, the doctor explained that the nerve is growing slowly, so the recovery phase will range from 1-2 months or may go over 6 months. Besides drug therapy, I should go to a hospital for facial rehabilitation. It occurred to me that maybe such disease can only be solved by western medicine at the initial stage. 

   I then kept taking medicine and went to rehabilitation, but later on found out that the muscles in my mouth, eyes, eyebrows and forehead were inconsistent and that my sense of taste has begun to be insensitive so I felt so scared once again. Recently after consulting my friends, I also found that such disease is common, and will take a long time to be cured (about 1 year) and in need of continuous rehabilitation. Therefore, I began to consider whether acupuncture method can also be used to accelerate my recovery besides western medicine. Immediately, I searched online again and learned some patients with similar disease getting treatments at Dr. Wen’s clinic. They recovered quite well after their acupuncture treatment. Based on these patients’ testimonies, I decided to receive treatment on the 5th day and gave up western medicine treatment. I would actively receive 2-4 weeks’ of acupuncture treatment instead of the passive western medicine treatment which was a lengthy and uncertain treatment method. All the data showed that Chinese medicine treatment was better than others. 

   After I received the treatment, I found out that the doctor was kind and skilled in needling. Besides, he encouraged me every time which made me more confident. Finally, I felt much better after 5 consecutive treatments (5 days) and drug therapies. And muscles of my mouth, eyes, eyebrows and forehead muscles recovered after less than 10 treatments, and my taste sense was almost cured. It was so amazing. It was my first time to get acupuncture treatment and to feel Dr. Wen’s medical skill is such a miracle. This made me change my attitude towards Chinese medicine and acupuncture. 

   At last, I really appreciate Dr. Wen’s encouragement and treatments so much. I also have realized that health is very significant. In addition, I’m glad I made my decision earlier so I could recover immediately. I suggest that you never  delay any of your medical treatments. Instead, you should make a prompt decision. I am willing to share my experience as hope for all similar fated people.
