Herpes zoster is also called “snake skin”. The old legend goes that if one gets “snake skin”, he/she will die soon. However, it is legend after all, and I don’t know about its real symptoms and painful feeling . 

In the morning of December 9, I felt a prickly feeling in my head from left head to back of head and neck. I thought it was caused by my bad sleeping posture. However, the prickly feeling remained after several days and became stronger, but I didn’t care about it. Later, my head twitched irregularly, but I didn’t think it was herpes zoster. Until the afternoon of December 15 (Saturday), I found many particles in my head and it hurt, so I decided to consult a doctor. However, many doctors didn’t hold clinics on Saturday afternoon and Sunday so I had to wait until Monday. It worsened on Saturday evening. The blisters became bigger and bigger so that I couldn’t fall asleep the whole night. The next day, I had to see the dermatology doctor who diagnosed it as herpes zoster. I applied some ointment but dared not take medicine. I wasn’t able to sleep on Sunday. I then went to a Chinese medicine doctor and took some Chinese medicine that didn’t have any effect yet. However, I still couldn’t sleep in the evening. 

The next day, I came cross Doctor Wen’s information on the Internet. Though I had seen many patients’ testimonials, I just wanted to have a try. Every course has 10 treatments and every acupuncture therapy lasts 1 hour. The first time I was treated with acupuncture, my headache disappeared at once but it would hurt during the waiting time. I thought the effect wouldn’t be very obvious, but I was 50% better the next day, even for the blister. I felt more confident about Doctor Wen’s medical skills. In the next treatment, Doctor Wen used fire needle (the needle is heated in the fire before placed on the scalp) which made me feel another effect the next day. Besides headache, I also couldn’t fall asleep if I lied on one side or lied flat. However, I could sleep well after the second treatment, which moved me so much. 

There was an obvious effect even after two treatments only. Although I still need time to recover, Doctor Wen made me believe recovery is close at hand, thanks to his medical skills and Chinese medicine treatments.
